This is a comprehensive exploration into all things silver clay, a hallmarkable quality silver product. We will start with the basics so this course is totally suitable for beginners, but what you will go onto learn will offer you an insight into silver clay that will have you hooked! We'll be looking at multiple stone setting options, ring making, filigree work using syringe clay and so much more. This is a fantastic introduction to working with silver clay as well as covering the key techniques to elevate your work. The course dates and times are as follows: Thursday 19th June, 10-4pm Friday 20th June, 10-4pm Saturday 21st June, 10-4pm Please note we break for an hour for lunch, between 12.30 and 1.30pm. Who is it for? Beginners onwards. Please note that a good level of dexterity and eyesight is required. Over 16s with accompanying adult. What will I learn? We'll work on various projects to allow you to learn the following skills: Best practice when working with silver clay in wet and dry forms Mould making, including fingerprint capture Working with hollow forms Multiple ways to create with syringe clay Ring making in silver clay to account for shrinkage Flush, claw and bezel setting stones in silver clay What's included All the equipment and materials you need are provided including 24g of silver clay, 5g syringe clay (a lot of silver!). Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided. What shall I bring? Reading glasses if you use them and if you have magnifying glasses please bring these also. Closed toed shoes are advisable and please tie long hair back and avoid loose flappy clothes.
