About The Event
Making your wedding rings
Your day will take place in the fully equipped and relaxed surroundings of Jewellery Workshops where you will have exclusive access and sole guidance from Kate. At least 2 weeks prior to your workshop date we'll arrange to have a half hour consultation, either in person or virtually. Here we will discuss your design ideas, sizing and metal options as well as any extras you would like to include. On the day itself we'll work through the process slowly to make sure everything is just perfect and there'll be plenty of tea, coffee and cake. Thoughout the day photos will be taken to remind you of your experience.
Timings
3-4 months timeframe is ideal to schedule consultation, workshop, hallmarking and to add any engraving or stone setting you might want. This is dependant on what you'd like, your timings and bookings already in place. Please get in touch even if you don't have quite that much time, I try and be as flexible as possible.
The initial consultation will take approximately half an hour with the workshop itself generally lasting from 3 - 4 hours but this is approximate. What is most important is that you are happy with the quality and finish of your ring.
Wedding ring workshops take place on mid-week days only and generally start at 10am.
What's included
Your consultation, workshop day, full use of equipment and private tuition. Materials and extras are charged on top of your workshop price (please see below).
Materials
Material costs vary depending on which metal you choose, plus the shape, design, size, width and weight of your rings. For all metals above 9ct it's recommended (but not complulsory) that you make your ring in silver and then have it cast in your chosen metal. This saves any worry about mistakes being made and you can enjoy your making day.
Following your initial consultation you will be given a guide price for your design. The exact price will be determined when materials are purchased or casting is complete due to the fluctuations in metal cost. It is also possible to re-use sentimental gold should you wish to, please note there is still a charge for this process.
Below is a rough guide for metal costs:
Silver: £80 - £120
9ct white, yellow or rose gold : £180 - £450
18ct yellow gold : £300 - £900
18ct white gold: £400- £1000
Platinum / Palladium - Platinum and Palladium rings will be created in silver and cast in your chosen metal.
Platinum: £600 - £1600
Palladium: £700- £1700
Extras
Special Delivery: £8.50
